A permit is required for any open burning of solid fuel materials (except charcoal). This includes open burning in barrels, chimenea's, fire pits, etc.
The owner of the property. A tenant is required to obtain written permission of property owner "in hand". A letter must include: tenant name, permission granted, dates granted, and that the owner of permits understands the assumption of responsibilities as indicated.
A category 1 permit may be applied for on-line at www.Nashuanh.burnpermits.com. A category 2 and 3 permit may be applied for online, but a site visit will be required.
These items must be installed and used in accordance with manufacturers specifications. If hard piped permanently installed, it must have a permit by the building department and inspected prior to use 603-589-3080.
Your category 1 and/or 2 permit expires on December 31st. Your category 3 permit expires at midnight of the day you received the permit.
A small, controlled fire, such as a camp or cooking fire, no greater than two feet in diameter contained in a ring of fire resistive material or in a portable fireplace.
A small, controlled fire, such as a camp or cooking fire, no greater than four feet in diameter contained in a ring of fire resistive material or in a portable fireplace.
Any other fire not a category 1 or 2 fires. A fire greater than five feet in diameter and no taller than five feet, or a fire not contained within a ring of fire resistive material.
Issued for category 1 ONLY. The permit is valid between 5:00 pm - midnight when burning is allowed.
Category 1 - Minimum of 25' from any structure. Category 2 - Minimum of 50' from any structure. Category 3 - Minimum of 50' from any structure. A structure is considered any pool, fence, shed, house, deck and alike.
When the applicant doesn't own the property they must have landowners permission to burn. They can still apply for a permit but will require additional steps to verify landowner permission and a permit site inspection.
